To encourage and promote tourist exchanges with friendly foreign countries, the adequate changes have been made in the fees of E-Visa, according to the press release by ministry of external affairs, Government of India.

Newly adopted tourist friendly Visa policies are summarized below,

1. For those who want to experience Indian multicultural society, rich heritage sites and natural splendor within a short span of a time, short duration e- visa with one month validity with visa fee of USD 25 has been introduced.

2. To enjoy hiking, trekking, stay in hill stations like Coorg, Ooty, Ladakh etc, April- June is the best season. For travel in this season, visa fee of USD 25 has been further reduced to USD 10.

3. A 5 year multiple entry e-visa facility has been created with fee of USD 80. This is an improvement over the current permissible limit of 1 year.

4. Fee for one year e-Tourist visa has been halved from USD 80 to USD 40. .
